Marijuana / Cannabis

Teens who use cannabis are more likely to quit school or fail to obtain a degree, which can limit their future opportunities. Moreover, early youth marijuana use is associated with an increased risk of depression and suicidal behavior.
Smoking cannabis can leave up to four times the amount of tar in the lungs compared to cigarettes, posing significant risks to respiratory health. Something else teenagers may not consider is that secondhand cannabis smoke can lead to a positive drug test.
In order to educate teenagers (middle school to high school) about common misperceptions associated with marijuana/cannabis, SAPC's current social media/digital billboard campaign uses the theme "Wait...What?" You can view the messaging below, which is being promoted on a variety of platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, SnapChat and digital billboards.
